SELFF Workshops

SELFF Workshops are offered monthly for EFM family members, parents, caretakers and providers.  They cover a variety of topics, including:  ADHD, Stress, Respite, Special Needs Trusts, etc.  For more information on scheduled workshops, please contact the nearest EFMP office.

Autism “Behavior Ask & Answer” Session:
Join us on March 2, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Abby Reinke Community Center.  Charlotte Fudge, Executive Director for Butterfly Effects, will answer individual questions honestly and anonymously.  Parents and providers may submit their specific questions about their child’s behavior in advance.  Reservations are required.  See the flyer for complete details and specific format for questions. Parent-to-Parent Peer Mentor Training

Hosted by Project Pendleton and the Camp Pendleton EFMP, the Parent-to-Parent program is a self-help, peer mentor training program that builds relationships and provides feeling-focused support for military families who have a child with a disability.  The program has established training components that focus on: understanding grief, listening skills, positive communication and disability.  The curriculum has been used by the Exceptional Family Resource Center for over 20 years.

Open to all military families who have a child with a developmental disability.   Each series is limited to 6 participants and registration is required.  (1.5mb)

SemperFi-Kids IEP Parent Training Series
The Camp Pendleton EFMP hosts workshops for parents of children with special needs, designed to take the confusion out of the IEP process through a better understanding of special education guidelines, policies and procedures.  In addition, EFMP Case Workers can provide individual consultations to parents.  This workshop is hghly recommended before Case Workers will attend a child's IEP meeting.
